Autumn fair

Start autumn in Bourtange with the annual autumn fair in the fortress on Saturday, September 19th, and Sunday, September 20st. Stalls will be set up on the Market Square, Brouwhuisplein, and around the fortress mill.

The market offers a diverse selection for both indoor and outdoor use, everything you need for an autumn market to enhance the autumn atmosphere at home. Decorations, garden furniture, antiques, antiques, jams and chutneys, clothing, and much more! All this accompanied by live music on the Market Square throughout both days.

During the market, all the museums in the fortress are also open, allowing you to fully experience the fortress's history. If you purchase a museum ticket, you won't pay any extra for the autumn market.
